Why Wind Power?
Clean Energy
Wind power is the most affordable zero-emission source of electricity. The science is becoming clearer each day. Burning fossil fuels releases huge amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. This causes climate change, also known as global warming. Climate Change has numerous economic, health, and security implications and will drastically alter the environment.
When wind power is produced, it reduces the amount of fossil fuels needed to meet our demand for electricity. In New England, one megawatt hour of wind power reduces the amount of carbon dioxide emitted by over 1100 pounds. The average household in New England uses 6 megawatt hours a year, thereby reducing over 6600 pounds of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. |
